A free bus service operates around an Adelaide city loop with bus stops in Victoria Square, King William Street, and North Terrace. The Adelaide Railway Station is located on North Terrace, a short stroll through the Festival Centre grounds to the Elder Park landing. For more information contact the Passenger Transport Information Centre on (08) 8210 1000. For bus, train and tram timetables, tickets, and tourist information visit their main office is located on the corner of King William St and Currie St.

The nearest car park is the Festival Centre, accessible either from King William Road, North Terrace or Morphett Street. Ticketed street parking is available on Victoria Drive, up to 3hrs, Kintore Avenue and War Memorial Drive.

Getting Onboard

Adelaide is a very easy city to get around. Whether you choose to walk, ride a bike, catch a bus, train or a tram or drive your car it is easy to get to Elder Park to join the crew for a relaxing cruise.

Elder Park is a five minute walk along King William Street from North Terrace towards the Adelaide Festival Theatre. On the left just past the theatre you will see the rotunda and the popeye wharf.

If you wish to hire the Popeye for a private charter, alternate boarding sites are from the Launders Boat Shed, off Victoria Drive or the Convention Centre.

The Torrens Linear Park is an excellent route to Elder Park. Adelaide City Council offer free bike hire – you just need photo ID such as a passport or a driver’s licence.
